Thermal Imaging Services of Central Illinois, Inc. is owned and operated by Brian Kumer. Thermal Imaging Services is an infrared inspection company with a passion for residential and commercial energy efficiency. In business for more than ten years, Thermal Imaging Services have played a major roll in bringing Home Performance to Central Illinois. The services that Thermal Imaging Services provides to our clients can be put into three catagories; energy, water or moisture and energy efficiency training for contractors and consultants.
In the late 1990's while studying at Illinois Central College for a degree in HVACR, I quickly discovered that we can do a fairly good job of installing higher efficiency heating and cooling systems, but if heat is leaking out of the walls, floors and ceilings at an excessive rate, then the overall performance of the home will be poor and the home will not reach the maximum potential for energy efficiency or comfort. These building shell problems led me to utilize an infrared camera and a blower door to pinpointing these shell problems. My customers will see the problems in their homes with the infrared camera and feel them with the blower door. No questions!
While pioneering home performance in Central Illinois, my world is between home and building owners and the contractors making the improvements to the buildings. My job is to locate the root cause of comfort, moisture and high energy usage, write the scope of work, prioritize the cost effective improvements and to verify that all of the improvements were done correctly.
Thermal Imaging Services provides; infrared electrical scans, flat roof moisture surveys, building water leak testing, enclosure integrity testing for fire suppression, commercial and residential energy evaluations, BPI (Building Performance Institute) Building Analyst and Envelope training and certifications.
